What Are The Health Benefits Of Drinking Green Tea Every Day?
A lot of people who have switched over to green tea find to their pleasant surprise that they are actually losing weight. People ask that...... What are the health benefits of drinking green tea every day? Could it be green tea contributing to our weight loss?
The answer is yes, ..... There are several reasons why green tea can contribute to weight loss.
The first reason is that when we drink tea with a lot of milk the fat from the milk adds on to our weight.
Suppose we switch to tea with skimmed milk or toned milk. Then also the combination of tea and milk and sugar can add to our weight.
These are the top two reasons why drinking a lot of tea and coffee adds to our weight. Because of the sugar content.
➤Green tea is a Diuretic.
In some cases. If the person is resistant or the person has an intolerance to milk then sometimes it causes swelling in the body. Now when the body starts swelling because of intolerance to milk or dairy or lactose. That swelling makes the person bloated.
In case of green tea. There is hardly any person who has intolerance or reaction to green tea. Mostly green tea functions as a diuretic. That means the extra bloating the extra swelling the water retention is relieved because green tea is a natural diuretic. It is one of the best health benefits of drinking green tea.
➤Green tea also helps in reducing bacteria and other harmful germs in the intestine.
The second benefits of drinking green tea are that most people can consume it without any sugar. You don't need too much sugar in green tea to consume it. That is an extra benefit because you are not consuming too much sugar, which leads to weight gain.
Another very positive aspect and benefit of drinking green tea are that it's an anti-bacterial and it's an anti-viral also. So besides the fact that you are losing, excess body water or it's a diuretic so bloating is coming down, it's is also fighting a lot of bacteria and germs.
What happens when our intestine has a lot of unhealthy bacteria, viruses, and germs. It also puts a load on the liver and kidney. Because of which you have bloating you have swelling and because of that, we start putting on weight also.
So green tea in a way is a detoxifier. Now, what happens when the body detoxifies. When the liver is cleansed of all the extra metabolites. The metabolism improves because it can do its functioning, it's work more efficiently.
Similarly, when the intestine is full of a lot of other bacteria and toxins. When the intestine detoxifies the bloating comes down, the absorption of other vital nutrients is far better.
Green tea serves to improve metabolism, improve the excretion of extra material and therefore the weight loss becomes more efficient. Because many times, it has been seen the weight loss is not very good.
People suffer from the stuck weight. Because their liver is sluggish their digestive system is sluggish and they are holding a lot of toxins in their body. So that way green tea is a great aid in people who are wanting to lose weight and choosing to lose weight.
➤Drinking green tea suppresses appetite.
Another benefit, how green tea helps in weight loss is that it also suppresses the appetite a little bit. For example, if you are feeling hungry and you do not want to overeat then, you can have a cup of green tea before beginning your meal.
Similarly, suppose if you had meals and again you are feeling like eating something. If instead of eating something you take a cup of green tea it will naturally suppress your appetite without causing any side effects. So, in fact, in all weight loss programs, green tea is really recommended.
➤What are the differences between Green tea and Black tea?
I know you are familiar with green tea and black tea is not new to you either but apart from the disparity in colour, is there any difference between green tea and black tea?
What are the differences between Green tea and Black tea?
Now, there is a difference between the two teas and We're going to learn more about that in this article. Both green tea and black tea are quite popular amongst us.
I can tell you upfront that there are three essential differences between green tea and black tea.
But before we diving into the differences between green tea and black tea. A little word or two about the background of Booty green tea and the black tea wouldn't go amiss.
Both green tea and black tea arise from the same plant. Yes, they do come from the same plant. The name of the plant is called Camellia Sinensis.
This plant is grown in huge fields in the eastern part of the globe.
A lot of it is grown in Sri Lanka, China, India, etc. Something else you may want to know is the fact that the leaves of the Camellia Sinensis harvested manually by plantation workers.
1]The Process of Oxidation-
The divergence between green tea and black tea begins with the process of oxidation. Oxidation turns the leaves of the Camellia Sinensis plant from green to dark brown colour.
What does this process of oxidation of Camellia Sinensis?
Well, oxidation means that the leaves are exposed to oxygen-rich air. This exposure to oxygen-rich air means a fermentation process is triggered in the black tea leaves.
The first difference between green tea and black tea is that; black tea is fully oxidised and fermented whereas Green tea is not oxidised and is not Fermented. That's difference number one.
2] Flavonoids Contain-
The second difference has to do with the flavonoids contained in both the green tea and black tea. It is noteworthy that, Both the green tea and black tea have flavonoids in them. Flavonoids are polyphenols.
The dominant flavonoid in green tea is Epigallocatechin-3-gallate.
Whereas in black tea the dominant flavonoid is Theaflavins. So, that's difference number three. It has to do with the content of the flavonoids in both teas.
It is noteworthy that both Flavonoids are good for your heart and blood vessel. You know, it's a bad idea for you to drink excess both green tea or black tea.
You can drink both or you can drink one or the other it does really matter because they both have flavonoids and these polyphenols reduce your risk of heart disease, so they beneficial to your heart health.
3] Caffeine Content-
The 3rd difference has to do with the caffeine content.
Both green tea and black tea contain caffeine. But Black tea has a lot more caffeine, compared to green tea. And in actual fact, black tea is a very nice substitute for the regular coffee. So, for somebody who tends to have side effects of caffeine from regular coffee.
You can turn to Green tea or black tea as a very nice substitute. You still have some caffeine in green tea, but not as much as you have in black tea. So, difference Number Three is the caffeine content. You've got more caffeine in black tea than you have in green tea.
Drinking green tea has a great deal of health benefits. Some of the other teas are also highly recommended like jasmine tea, Chamomile tea. Though they are not traditionally green teas, they are flower teas. But it is a great add on to your routine of having different kinds of teas.
